The 2017 Alternative Press music awards takes place on Monday July 17th, 2017 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. If you can’t do the math and want to know exactly how long you’ll have to wait, they’ve conveniently added a countdown on http://www.altpress.com/apmas2017.

The event will be hosted by Andy Biersack, better known as Andy Six, the lead singer for Ohio glam rock band Black Veil Brides. Per their press release, the event will be, “like attending a taping of Colbert or Kimmel.” Not exactly sure what all that entails, but they promise an interactive experience for the audience.

Artists performing at the event have yet to be announced, but Alternative Press plans to release details soon. In the past few years the event has seen J-Pop metal band BABYMETAL perform “Breaking the Law” and “Painkiller” with Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Yellowcard, Weezer, Laura Jane Grace of Against Me!, Panic! At the Disco, Good Charlotte, Papa Roach, Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, New Found Glory with Hayley Williams, Pierce the Veil, Motion City Soundtrack, Mayday Parade, Senses Fail, Bullet for Valentine, August Burns Red, As It Is, Set It Off and more.

The awards are more of a formality than anything, but the event usually produces a few clip worthy moments such as last year’s collaboration between Rob Halford and BABYMETAL.

If you want to attend the event you can purchase them at http://www.altpress.com/apmas2017. Early bird tickets can be purchased for a reasonable $30.
