Sonic Temple 2025 Is Almost Here: Four Days of Loud Guitars, Iconic Headliners, and Rock History in the Making

In just a few short weeks, Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio will once again erupt with the sound of pure rock power. Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival returns May 8–11, 2025, bringing more than 100 artists, legendary headliners, rare reunions, and a massive community of fans together for what’s already shaping up to be the biggest year in the festival’s history.

This year’s lineup is nothing short of monumental. Metallica headlines two nights with entirely different sets—their first-ever appearance at Sonic Temple, no less—capping off both Friday and Sunday with a “No Repeat Weekend” that promises deep cuts and classic anthems. Linkin Park, now joined by co-vocalist Emily Armstrong, is making a historic return with one of their first shows in seven years, taking the main stage on Saturday. Other top-billed acts include Korn, Rob Zombie, Alice In Chains, Incubus, and the highly-anticipated reunion of Three Days Grace with original frontman Adam Gontier.

“Bringing two nights of Metallica to Sonic Temple has been years in the making,” says Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents. “With over 100 bands and a lineup that spans eras and genres of heavy music, this is the kind of weekend that only happens once in a generation.”

Beyond the Headliners: Why Sonic Temple 2025 Hits Hard

While the top line is stacked with rock and metal icons, the real magic is in the depth. From Acid Bath’s ultra-rare reunion set to GWAR’s 40th anniversary show, there are dozens of reasons to camp out in front of the stage all weekend long. Fans can also catch long-awaited returns from Crossfade, Seven Hours After Violet (System of a Down’s Shavo Odadjian’s new project), and anniversary performances from Bullet For My Valentine and Trivium.

“We’re looking forward to coming back and headlining Sonic Temple in 2025 for our friends at DWP,” said Korn in a statement. “Columbus always shows up.”

Sonic Temple 2025 will also feature a larger-than-ever live art program, fan-favorite hangout spots like The Dive Bar, and Metallica-curated experiences like the BLACKENED Whiskey Bar and Burger Bar—a mashup of culinary firepower and sonic fuel that’s already earned cult-favorite status at other DWP fests.
