If asked to recall the most magical locations they know, I doubt that most people would list Kent, Ohio.
While you may not think of Kent as a magical place, for a single weekend each year the whole town transforms itself into the wizarding world of Harry Potter.
The second annual Kent Potterfest will take place on Saturday July 29, 2017. As you may guess, it’s an entirely Harry Potter themed festival, and the whole town participates in the celebration.

According to the Facebook event, “Harry Potter fans of all ages [can] come together and celebrate everything Harry Potter” and the festivities will include “costume contests, potion classes, event-themed vendors, photo booths and more.” Countless small business in the area participate, even transforming their storefronts to resemble London’s hidden Diagon Alley.
Not bad for Northern Ohio!
If you’re a Harry Potter fan, or a bored Ohioan in July, a road trip to Kent may just be in order. Catch Kent’s Potterfest the last Saturday in July!
